Woodbury, NJ  Today, Congresswoman Mikie Sherrill yet again failed to show up for her job in Congress. If Sherrill really wants to stand up to Donald Trump and Elon Musk’s dangerous agenda, how come she keeps skipping votes to run for Governor instead? This week, alone, she missed 6 out of 8 roll call votes. She keeps saying she runs toward the fight, but her actions show she continues to run from it.

In the 118th Congress, Sherrill missed more votes than 88% of Congresspeople.

Since the start of the 119th Congress, Sherrill has been missing votes left and right. Sherrill has missed a THIRD of all votes in 2025, and she’s missed more votes than a whopping 97% of her Congressional colleagues this year.

Some votes Congresswoman Sherrill missed include…

  • Sherrill missed a vote to crack down on fentanyl dealers and classify fentanyl-related substances as a Schedule I drug. (H.R.27)

  • Sherrill missed a vote to increase oversight of donations and investments from foreign adversaries like China and Russia at American universities. (H.R.1048)

  • Sherrill missed a vote on directing the Department of Homeland Security to use modern technology to reinforce border security (H.R.993) …

  • …and a vote ordering the Department of Homeland Security to strengthen the safeguarding of sensitive R&D information. (H.R.901)

Steve Sweeney has issued the following statement:

"Once again, Congresswoman Sherrill missed votes in Congress today. She talks a lot about fighting for New Jersey, but her actions tell a different story. Why? Because she’s more focused on climbing the political ladder than doing the job she was elected to do. Let’s be honest – she’s turning her back on the very people who put their trust in her. If she can’t be bothered to show up and do her job now, how can we trust her to stand up to Donald Trump and Elon Musk as Governor?"
