Atlantic County Democratic Committee Endorses Steve Sweeney for Governor

Woodbury, NJ – Today at the Atlantic County Democratic Convention, the Atlantic County Committee voted to officially endorse Steve Sweeney for Governor. Steve continues to garner support for his campaign to be a quality-of-life governor for all New Jerseyans, with the experience from his time as Senate President and a union Ironworker to deliver real results for New Jerseyans, and his commitment to lowering costs and protecting the rights and benefits of millions of New Jerseyans, all in the face of an administration in Washington more interested in tax cuts for the rich than funding essential programs like Medicare and SNAP.

Steve Sweeney issued the following statement:

“I want to thank the Atlantic County Democratic Committee for their support. I’ve taken on tough fights here over my career: When billionaire Carl Icahn tried to stiff workers out of their wages and benefits, I stopped him. When Governor Christie wanted to let Atlantic City go bankrupt, my office stepped in and saved the city. I’ve always fought for the people of Atlantic County, and as Governor, I’ll keep fighting to lower costs, protect our communities, and defend our rights, because I firmly believe that Jersey is worth fighting for.”
